Light Opal
Light Opal --- it comprises the majority of precious opal and comes from all fields, mainly Coober Pedy and Mintabie in Australia, If the opal is very translucent and visible on both surfaces, it is called “crystal opal” and is more demanded in the market. However, if the opal is translucent but gives a weak colour, it may be “jelly opal”. Milky opal carries creamy appearance and is extremely common in the market
Dark Opal (Black Opal)
Dark Opal (Black Opal) --- it has a dark body colour and can be crystal or opaque. It was first discovered in the Lightning Ridge in 1902. It often has a thin colour bar on black potch. As black opal is very scarce and many royal families are very fond of it, beautiful black opal is sought after and comparable to the price of diamonds.
Boulder opa
Boulder opal is still natural. A thin layer of precious opal is found on a host rock and we leave it as it is in order to keep its natural beauty. Its colours are usually more vivid and it can be very dear depending on its brilliance.
